PM Narendra Modi's 65th Birthday Today, No Home Visit This Time

New Delhi, Sep 17 (NDTV): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not spend his 65th birthday today in home state Gujarat, as he has done in previous years. The PM is in Delhi and will this morning visit an exhibition that commemorates 50 years of the 1965 India-Pakistan war.

Last year, he had made his first visit to Gujarat after taking office, on his birthday. He had sought blessings from his mother Hirabai, 96, and in the evening, had hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping in Gandhinagar.

Twitter is celebrating the Prime Minister's birthday with multi-coloured balloons floating across his page. PM Modi is among the most followed global leaders on the social networking site and the hashtag #HappyBdayPM trended at the top.

Among those who wished the PM early was Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
