Udupi: St Mary's bags prizes at district level in various sports matches

Udupi, Sep 17: St Mary's Kannarpady held district level rural competitions in football, shuttle badminton and table tennis matches under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) for the year 2015-16. The matches were organized by the ministry Of youth affairs and sports, department of sports mission directorate, Government Of India in association with department of youth empowerment and sports Udupi district and district administration Udupi. They were played at Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium, Ajjarkad, Udupi on September 12.



The girls football team of St Mary's English Medium School Kannarpady won the first place and the boys team won the second place.

In shuttle badminton, girls team comprising of Glancia Pinto, Neha Harish and Shreya Rao won the first place under women's category. The same girls shuttle badminton team also won the first prize at district level Dasara Sports on September 13.

The members of boys shuttle badminton team Prasidh and Samanth secured the first prize in under 16 boys category rural competition.

The table tennis girls team comprising of Shreya, Shradha and Susan won first place. The same girls table tennis team also won second prize at district level Dasara Sports on September 13.

The members of boys table tennis team Prasidh, Prashasth, Shobhit and Shivam secured the third prize.

All players were awarded with trophy and merit certificates by Dr Roshan Kumar Shetty, asst director department of youth empowerment and sports Udupi district.
