Vyapam: MP government revokes Roy couple's transfers

Indore, Sep 18 (IANS): The Madhya Pradesh government on Friday informed the state high court's Indore bench that it has revoked its directive of transferring medical practitioners Anand Roy and his wife Gauri Roy.

Anand Roy's counsel Vivek Tankha told IANS that a two-judge Bench of Justice D.K. Palival and Justice P.K. Jaiswal has been told by the government that the transfer orders of both have been revoked and they would be reinstated in Indore.

The government has also mentioned about paying off the pending salaries.

Anand Roy has been taking up fight in Vyapam case, during which he and his wife Gauri Roy were transferred. He filed a petition against it and termed it a revengeful step. The court put on hold the order on the transfers.

In an affidavit, Anand Roy informed the court that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had tried to offer allurements if they withdrew from the Vyapam campaign.
