Bus runs over pedestrians as driver suffers heart attack


New Delhi, Sep 18 (IANS): A moving cluster bus ran over four pedestrians, killing an unidentified person, after its driver suffered a heart attack here on Friday evening, police said.

The incident took place at around 4 p.m. in Chandni Chowk area of north Delhi.

A 55-year-old unidentified man died in the incident, with his face completely smashed, while Santosh Kumar, 19, his brother Mahender Kumar, 24, and another pedestrian Rajesh Kurma, 45, were injured.

The bus driver Wajid Ali, a resident of Khajoori Khas area in east Delhi, was declared dead at Sushruta Trauma Centre due to cardiac arrest.

"We have received five patients, two of them were brought dead," CMO Sushruta Trauma Centre Dr. S.M. Basna told IANS.

Basna said that two of the injured are brothers.
