Delhi government's fever/dengue clinics to open Monday

New Delhi, Sep 19 (IANS): Dedicated fever/dengue clinics across the national capital would start functioning from Monday morning, the Delhi government said on Saturday.

These clinics will function in the government dispensaries at 55 locations across the city.

Health Minister Satyendar Jain has directed these clinics to function from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. including Sundays and holidays till further orders, a government statement said.

It said the staff would be deputed in these clinics in double shifts so that check-ups of patients visiting the clinics with fever and suspected dengue complaints could be done without any delay.

The minister has directed that before closing the clinic every day, doctors and paramedic staff will ensure that those in need of hospitalisation are shifted to the nearest hospitals and others sent back home after complete check-ups and relevant medical advice, the statement added.

To deal with the current dengue situation in the city, the number of fever/dengue clinics might be increased after receiving feedback about the functioning of these 55 clinics, it added.
