One Indian killed, two injured in Saudi Arabia attack

New Delhi, Sep 19 (IANS): One Indian national was killed and two were injured in a mortar attack on a hospital in Saudi Arabia's Jizan region, an official said on Saturday.

External affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted: "According to our Consul General in Jeddah, one Indian is reported to have died and two were injured in the attack."

The Yemeni Houthi rebels attacked the Samtah hospital on Friday in retaliation against Saudi Arabia-led air strikes on Yemen that began in March this year.

According to reports, two Bangladeshi nationals, who were employed in the hospital, were also killed in the attack.
