Hassan, Sep 21: Thieves broke into State Bank of Mysore in Holenarasipur and took away Rs 13.44 lac cash and gold ornaments on Saturday September 19 night.
The theft was discovered only on Sunday morning after the window grills of the bank were found removed.
It is said that the cash and gold ornaments wrapped in five packets kept in one locker were stolen and another nearby locker was not touched. The spared locker had jewellery worth crores of rupees pledged by the customers to avail loans.
The burglars used a gas cutter to break into the strong room.
