4.5-magnitude tremor hits Nepal


Kathmandu, Sep 22 (IANS): A tremor measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale was felt in several places in Nepal's Kathmandu valley and neighbouring districts on Tuesday.

It was an aftershock of the deadly April 25 earthquake and was recorded at 12.17 p.m., the National Seismological Centre (NSC) said.

The epicentre was in Tasarpu of Dhading district, The Himalayan Times reported.

The last aftershock was recorded at 4.05 a.m. on September 20, with its epicentre in Dolakha district.

The number of aftershocks since April 25 has reached 396, the NSC said. The April quake killed thousands and caused widespread destruction.
