Indian expat drowns in drum of water

Sep 23 (Emirates247): A man drowned to death in a drum filled with water kept in a washroom in the UAE.

The Indian is believed to have committed suicide in Ras Al Khaimah, in a tragic incident that took place last week.

Vishnu Muraleedharan Nair (26) came back from vacation in India two months ago.

“He returned from work at a rotisserie in Ras Al Khaimah. He went inside the washroom and when he did not come out after sometime, his friends found him in the big drum filled with water.

“The postmortem report said he drowned to death,” the social worker who handled the case said.

In a separate case, Shibu Shashidharan (39), another Indian expatriate who worked in Ras Al Khaimah, was found hanging from a tree.

A friend who was sharing accommodation with him, saw his lungi (Indian wrap-around) dangling from the tree and found him dead.

Social workers handling the cases have confirmed the death of both men.
