Shekhar's Elizabethan team to come together for a Shakespeare series

Mumbai, Sep 27: Director Shekhar Kapur whose movie Elizabeth had made a mark of its own when released is all set to work with the members of the same team to bring to life a series on William Shakespeare. The series is said to be written by Craig Pearce who also co-wrote scripts of movies like 'The Great Gatsby' and 'Romeo and Juliet'.

BAFTA winner Shekhar, tweeted, "Wonderful to be teaming up again with colleagues from Elizabeth to shoot brilliantly written series on Shakespeare by Craig Pearce." Shekhar was also conferred with the Padma Shri in 2000. Shekhar further shared that, "Exciting collaboration with Craig Pearce, who wrote Baz Luhrman's Great Gatsby,Romeo Juliet, Moulin Rouge on a William Shakespeare series." Kapur is known to also be working on a series based on the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra.

Kapur is known for his work the world over and given his track record for entertaining audiences with movies such as Elizabeth and Bandit Queen, his series on Shakespeare too seems to be worth looking forward to.
