Mumbai, Sep 28: Having given the audiences unforgettable movies such as Aandhi and Mausam, Gulzar claims that his daughter has surpassed him with her own movie on the Arushi Talwar murder case titled Talvar.

The acclaimed director and lyricist said, "Meghna's film is better than nay I have made." Speaking about her choice to make a movie on a case that shocked the whole nation with its core subject being the killing of a 14-yr old girl, allegedly by her own parents, Meghna said, “We are not aiming to arrive at a conclusion with the film but want to ignite a debate regarding the case… Right now the opinion of the people is either the parents are guilty and justice has been served or injustice has been done. With this movie, there might be clarity on the fact whether justice has been done or not. It’ll swing either way even more strongly."

The cast of the film include Konkona Sen Sharma and Irrfan Khan, while the story was written by Vishal Bharadwaj. Konkona plays young Arushi's mother while, Irrfan Khan assays the role of the investigating police officer. The family apparently were asked and had given their express consent for the movie to be filmed on this tragic incident in their lives.

Shahid Kapoor at the recent GQ event, here said that, “I am curious to see in which angle the story has been presented. I think entire country is waiting for to watch the movie. Considering Konkona and Irfan sir are in the film, both are fine actors. So I am sure the film is really good."
