Mumbai, Sep 30: Roy actress Jacqueline Fernandez who was rumoured to be dating Tevar actor Arjun Kapoor, today set the record straight by saying that Arjun is one of her earliest friend's in the industry alongside his sister Sonam Kapoor.

The actress who was recently seen as Akshay Kumar's wife Jenny in Brothers, revealed to magazine Filmfare that, “Oh my God! I was just talking to him today. I told him ‘you started it’. And he said, ‘you started it’. He said you gave a comment on it. I said I’ve not uttered anything at all. I’m not dating him. Arjun has been my one of earliest friends along with Sonam (Kapoor).”

She is also said to have revealed to the magazine that, “I didn’t know Varun (Dhawan), Ranbir (Kapoor), Ranveer (Singh)... anyone then. After Sonam became my friend, I started hanging out with everyone. Arjun being Sonam’s cousin, we’ve grown to be good friends. It’s just now that people have begun to see a lot there. He’s an intelligent, hard working guy. We respect each other’s friendship. It’s funny how we got linked up. Guess, we don’t have a choice. But it’s entertaining."

Jacqueline will be back on the silver screen with Dishoom opposite John Abraham and The Flying Hat opposite Tiger Shroff. Filmfare reported that the actress also said, “Why is everyone asking me. Why don’t you all ask Arjun about this? We were there at the IIFA awards. We stood together for a press conference and everyone started linking us. Arjun finds these link up stories hilarious. I also think it is quite funny. We are focused on our careers right now. We are just great friends and that’s it. So, it is absurd to link us together. I am single.”

Arjun who is presently in the US for the Global Citizen Festival has R. Balki's movie Ki and Ka with Kareena Kapoor slated for release sometime next year.
