BJP is not against reservation: Amit Shah

Patna, Sep 30 (IANS): BJP president Amit Shah on Wednesday said his party was not against reservation and the system will continue.

He also targeted RJD chief Lalu Prasad for spreading lies that the BJP wants to end reservation.

"The BJP has never opposed reservation. We have always supported reservation," Shah said while addressing party workers in Begusarai district, about 125 km from here.

"Lalu is spreading lies that the BJP will end reservation. We will not touch reservation and it will continue," Shah said.

Shah, who arrived here on Tuesday, is likely to camp here for the next six days to discuss and chalk out fresh strategy of the party for the Bihar assembly polls.

The polls for 243-member Bihar assembly will take place in five phases between October 12 and November 5, with the counting slated for November 8.
