Decision on land for Yettinahole proj on Oct 7, no court stay: Minister

Kolar, Oct 3 (DHNS): A final decision on acquiring land for the Yettinahole irrigation project will be taken at the Cabinet meeting scheduled for October 7, Law Minister T B Jayachandra has said.

"All the hurdles in the path of implementing the project have been cleared since the Union government has withdrawn the ordinance to the new Land Acquisition Act. The environmentalists have approached court challenging the project. There are media reports that the court has granted a stay on the project. But, no court has granted a stay and hence there are no impediments to continue with the project," Jayachandra said here on Friday.

The minister was speaking at a function to issue sanction letters of various welfare schemes under the special dairy farming package.

Jayachandra said that the State government will defend the project effectively in the court. Of the seven barrages proposed to be constructed under the project, the work on two have been completed. It costs about Rs 13,000 crore to complete the project and there are no financial constraints for it. The government will surmount all challenges and complete the project on time, the minister said.

It is high time that we have our own Separate State called Coastal Karnataka State. All those people who have played and who are playing with the lives of the Coastal districts of DK and Udupi should be shown the EXIT DOOR. We do not want to be ruled by the present Rulers of Karnataka State from Bangalore. Arrogant and Unfit Politicians. I do not want even God to save and have Mercy on these Politicians and and their generations for ruining us. The Devil/Satan should not KEEP and ACCEPT these ARROGANT AND IMMUNE POLITICIANS of Karnataka, lest they may spoil his kingdom too. What a Pity that we are in Karnataka State ruled from BANGALORE. A Separate State is the the SOLUTION to all these problems. Wake up the people of DK and Udupi demanding a Separate State. JAI HIND.

Why are Mangaloreans not waking up. We do not need discussion about smart city if the city doesn't get water in future. Why are hindutva forces not against this project, If law minister has guts to say that there is no case or restriction we need answers from Environmental groups.

I really admire the Ministers working under CM Siddu. He is the Law Minister, then he turns into Irrigation Minister at last Finance Minister, but alas he is not donning the part of a Forest or Environment Minister. This is my favourite Congress Governance in Karnataka !!!!?????!!!!
