Mangaluru, Oct 3: The prize distribution ceremony of the annual competitions conducted during the year by Konkani Natak Sabha Mangaluru was held on September 26 at Don Bosco hall here.

The competitions were held during the year were for elocution, poetry, singing, fancy dress, dance and Haskule a comedy skit competition.

In the singing competition, below 15 years category out of city parishes Gurupur, Niththyadhar and Allipade Parishes bagged first, second and third place respectively. In the city parishes Bondel, Bejai, and Bajjodi Parishes bagged first, second and third place respectively.

In the above 15 years category out of city parishes parishes Gurupur, Niththyadhar and Fajir Parishes bagged first, second and third place respectively. In the city parishes Cordel Parish bagged first place while Bajjodi and Bejai Parishes stood second and Cascia Parish third place.

In the out of city Parishes Gurpur Parish bagged overall championship and in the city parishes Cordel parish bagged overall championship.

In the Fancy Dress competition in the below 15 years Bajal and Bajjodi Parishes bagged first rolling shield, while Bondel and Angelore Parishes second and third place respectively. In the above 15 years category, Bajal, Bajjodi and Bondel Parishes bagged first, second and third places respectively.

In the Dance competition Bondel, Milagres and Bejai bagged first, second and third place respectively in the below 15 years category. Cordel, Ashoknagar Parishes bagged first and second place respectively while Bondel, Bejai and Urva parishes third place in above 15 years category.

In the Haskule skit competition Paldane, Kateel and Balkunje Parishes bagged first, second and third place respectively. Bejai, Bondel, Surathkal and Valencia parishes bagged consolation prizes.

Cordel parish bagged overall championship in all the competitions held during the year.

The prizes of the competitions were distributed by the President of KNS Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza along with Santhosh Sequeira, Pro. Santhosh Arrangers and Elias Fernandes, Director of Four winds Mass communications.

Vice president Prem Lobo, general secretary Sunil Menezes and Joint Secretary Judi D’Souza among others were present.

President Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza welcomed the gathering. General secretary Sunil Menezes read the list of prize winners and congratulated them on behalf of Konkani Natak Sabha and proposed vote of thanks. Prem Lobo compered the programme.
