Rohit Gandhi, Rahul Khanna partner with cosmetic brand for AIFW 2016


New Delhi, Oct 3 (IANS): Designer duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna has partnered with Maybelline New York for Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) Spring-Summer’16. The designers will display a collection that is inspired by the essence of New York and complements the cosmetic brand's latest innovations in make-up.

The five-day fashion event will start here on October 7 and the designers will showcase the collaborative fashion and beauty show on October 10 at NSIC Grounds, here.

"We and Maybelline New York cater to same audience who is dynamic, intelligent and confident, who is fashion forward and ready to experiment with new looks. We love empowering women to personify their individuality and make a statement", Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna said in a statement.

Maybelline’s official make-up artist, Elton J Fernandes will create innovative - make-up looks that will be paired with a prêt collection of the designers inspired by the essence of New York and mantra of “Make It Happen”.

Structured silhouettes in mesh, light weight fabrics and silk organza will be highlighted with unique motifs, tone on tone embellishments and Rorschach embroideries. Vivid tones of mint, white, coral, sky hues, frost and black form a strong part of the collection with the designers’ love for metallic tones being emphasised in select garments.

“I’m eagerly looking forward to the Maybelline show with Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna and I’m sure it will be a spectacular presentation of fashion and beauty,” said Sunil Sethi, President of Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).
