Mangaluru, Oct 5: "The preparations for ‘Mangaluru Dasara 2015’ (Navaratri) organized by century-old Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra, Kudroli are going on in full swing. The celebrations will be held from October 13 to October 24," revealed former union minister and managing trustee of Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Temple B Janardhan Poojary at a press meet held at Kudroli temple auditorium here on Monday October 5.

"We have decided to celebrate this year's Mangaluru Dasara in a grand way. Mangaluru Dasara and temple's renovation will complete 25 years this year. So we have decided to celebrate Bramhakalashotsava of the temple too. Some people opine that Bramhakalshotsava is observed once in 12 years. But puja to God with sincerity and devotion can be offered at any time. God will always accept it," he added.

"For us development of state and nation is very essential. I was disappointed when chief minister said that Jamboo Savari will not be celebrated in a grand way this year during Mysuru Dasara. But the CM has changed his decision, which is a good news. Meeting expectations and fulfilling the wish of the people is very important. People are facing tough times. This year there has been low rainfall in the nation which has affected the economy too. If Dasara is celebrated in a grand way, tourists will visit, which will generate revenue and give relief to the people. If Dasara is celebrated, large number of people will join together and pray to God. There is nothing above God," Poojary added.

"On October 13, 14 and 15, puja and prayers will be offered to God to convince the chief minister, prime minister and other politicians concerned to abandon the Yettinahole project in the interest of the coastal Karnataka and also to provide an alternative option for the drinking water problem in Kolar, Tumkur and Chikkaballapur region. Thereafter Bramhakalashotsava will be observed on October 16," he informed.

Poojary also urged the chief minister to provide reservation to poor people belonging to the upper caste category mainly Brahmins and GSBs. He questioned the state government whether poor people in these communities existed or not.

H S Sairam, president, Kudroli temple, temple managing committee members Raghavendra Kulur, Padmaraj R, B K Tharanath, B Devendra Poojary, Leelaksha Karkera, Harikrishna Bantwal and others were present on this occasion.
