Bengaluru: Schoolgirl hangs herself after boys abduct, strip her

Bengaluru, Oct 6 (DHNS): A 15-year-old girl reportedly committed suicide at her house at Chikkajala in northern Bengaluru on Monday afternoon just after a few boys abducted and stripped her and then took her nude photographs when she was returning from school.

In a death note, she has named two boys and their associates. "Krishnamurthy and Mohan are responsible for my death. These two and their associates took me away when I was returning home from school on Monday. They stripped me and clicked my pictures. I have decided to die as I have lost my honour. I and my family need justice. I myself have written this letter and it’s my handwriting," the girl, who was a class 10 student at a government school, is said to have written in the suicide letter.

A friend of the girl’s family said she hanged herself from the ceiling fan between 1.15 pm and 2.30 pm. But what has shocked the family is the alleged callousness of the police. The girl was reportedly facing constant harassment from the boys and had even complained to the police on Sunday night but the police didn’t entertain her, the family friend told Deccan Herald.

On Monday, the same boys abducted and stripped her and then clicked her pictures in the nude. She decided to kill herself after that, the friend added. The incident came to light after her parents, who were working at a construction project near their house, returned home.

Police said they had arrested Krishnamurthy and Mohan and were hunting for other suspects. Vikash Kumar Vikash, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast), has asked for a detailed report on the incident from the jurisdictional ACP following the accusation by the girl’s family. “I have directed the ACP to submit a report in two days. Action will be taken against the local police based on the report,” the DCP said.

Police said that on Sunday, a Hoysala patrol team had warned the girl’s father and his relatives as they were quarrelling in public over an old matter. The policemen then took them to the police station for an enquiry. Meanwhile, the girl arrived there and told the police that Krishnamurthy and Mohan, who are related to her father, had harassed her. Police claimed that everything had been documented.

The boys have been booked under Sections 354A (sexual harassment) and 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.

What to say?may her Soul rest in peace.when Boys at this Age start such horrible and ashaming Action, can think what is at their house talk is.Not a good parenthral lead.I can just imagine Girls embarrassment and shaming when they made her nude.and more embarrassment when Police denied her Statement to take.Even though it is sad and horrifying, parents a hard shock about her suicide, should it be warning to in future for Police and Boys who intend to do so.Now These Boys can rejoice in jail and their parents about their sons activity. Now dismiss These Police and take Action against them.Parents should be taken to Task about their responsibility.Boys also should not be spared.DO them same as they did to the Girls.and punishment also not less.Heartfelt sympathy to the prents of this Girl.Govt.should pay a good amount of Money to the parents because police didnt protect her.Lord where it is leading all These things? No ,something must be done so that our Girls should feel safe and protected.not as victims.police should be active first ,to do something.

I have seen so many comments on shameless CM (Siddu) and shameless HM (George) and 99% of the folks / commentators agree law and order has collapsed in Karnataka. I agree 100 % for this. Similar comments received for other rape / harassment cases also. So, could anybody let me know how could we bring these 2 jokers ( siddu and George ) down from their powers and arrange for a good leader who can drive the state with full power and bring law and order in place. any recommendations than waiting till next election to make them pack up. please... irritating to see so may murders, robberies, rapes, sexual harassments in our state.

It is grave heart breaking and highly disturbing incident. Let her soul RIP and our heartfelt deep condolences to her family and friends.

From the deceased victim’s point of view, she approached police and had expected stringent action from police against the culprits. When she realized that she was not getting enough justice from police due to their leniency or other factors, further to her utter surprise the culprits reached the peak of vulgarity. She had intolerable nightmare and lost hopes to get further justice and she was utterly hopeless. Hence she had taken the extreme step.

Culprits need to be given stringent punishment, adequately compensated from the culprits. However the police who handled the case initially too are also indirectly responsible for poor & helpless girl’s death.

The Government shall immediately start help line No & center, provide free counseling and free speedy & fair legal relief for distress people.

This tragic and heart rendering incident, which not only undermines the chastity and dignity of this innocent girl alone but also the womenfolk of India as a whole. Repeatedly so many incidents have been happening day-by-day here and there but also whole over India and the atrocities meted out on women are at a larger scale. Really it’s a matter of shame disgrace to the mankind.

As per report, prima facie, it is clear in this case in particular that, the police have not taken any action in order to avoid this fateful situation to save a life of an innocent girl. Particular police in this case should be dealt and punished severely.

Ours is a democratic country and we have set rules, legal system. But what is the use? When this type of incident happens, instant justice should prevail and lynching is the best solution if proved correct that the perpetrator is wrong. This is my personal opinion please.

May her soul rest in peace.

    Dear Prem,
I mean to say that in Karnataka rapes and murders are increasing day by day. First you stop linking all rapists, murderers with sangh parivar and stop communalising. Rapist is a rapist. I am not the supporter of any criminals, whomever it may be. Culprits must be punished. What will happen if the culprit is turned out to be a congress supporter? Will they take strict actions? Crimes rates are increasing because culprits are getting bidugade bhagya.

Innocent girls are also not spared. when girls go out late nights and fall in to some troubles OR when they wear small small provoking dress and fall in to trouble we blame them why they behave and they themselves are responsible for the problem. but here ( and also many recent few incidents ) innocents girls are becoming victims. kundapur rape case, this one... really painful. bloody the cruel fun of the mislead stupid boys made an innocent girl to loose her life. what a tragedy and cruel / real picture of the current situation. As per the latest investigation, BJP is busy is selecting RSS goondas in police force and these bas...ds are busy in catching animal transporters to collect money. Police post is only a way of income and they are not bothered about providing protection to public. They are taught by their Master only to concentrate on animal transporters and pass on the animals to Gujarat. In Bangalore issue it is complete failure of Police and all the concerned Police officers should be kept behind bar as they have failed to protect an innocent girl. The rapists should be given capital punishment immediately.

The police would have taken swift action if the accused were from the 'Minority' community. That's the bitter truth that we need to accept with this police set up now. But in this case, the thugs were from 'police's own community' and hence they needed sympathy. Let's see whether ABVP and Sanghis will now take to road and hold protests about these cases. Their silence in Kundapur rape and murder and Vittal rape cases where their own activists have been caught has proven that they are not 'anti-crime' but 'anti-Minority'

This is not ignorance, this is pure callousness on the part of the police. After all she was a daughter of poor construction workers. Had she been from an affluent family, police force would've jumped into action at the of a hat. If at all some punitive action will be taken in this case, it'll be against some scapegoat cop with no political connections and that too will be in the form of suspension or transfer but never termination or jail.

Forget protection from police etc - passive approach and never happen. Best solution: There are many British groups who teach martial arts to girls for free. Learning Martial Arts for girls in school should be COMPULSORY! Then see the difference - you will find so many molesters and rapists in hospital kicked in their private area possibly impotent.
