Mangaluru: Five arrested for following group of friends, assaulting student in university

Mangaluru, Oct 7: In yet another case of immoral rowdyism, a group of postgraduate students of Mangalore University were on Tuesday October 7 reportedly chased and one of them beaten up in the university campus by a gang of five.

The students had been to Ullal for an outing when the incident took place. The five accused, identified as Suhan, Sunil, Prajwal, Abhishek and Chandra, all from Mogaveerpatna, have been arrested by Konaje police.

It is said that Ramesh of Ballari, Shafiulla of Puttur along with three girls belonging to different religions, all studying in final year of postgraduation in the university, had been to Ullal for a trip. They went to Someshwar temple, Ullal Dargah and then to Mogaveerpatna beach. When the friends were playing in the water and clicking selfies with each other, a few local youths noticed them and came to know that students of another community were also part of the friends' group. The youths followed the students.

The friends grew frightened at being followed and got into a bus plying to university. However, the youths from Mogaveerpatna did not give up. They took an auto rickshaw and followed the bus, and waylaid it near Thokkottu. Among the friends' group, Sharifulla reportedly managed to escape. The youths then caught hold of Ramesh, forced him into an auto rickshaw and brought him to the university, and told him to show them Sharifulla's class and hostel room, it is alleged.

After bringing Ramesh to the university, the accused youths also allegedly beat him in the campus itself. The other students in the campus informed the Konaje police, who immediately came to the spot and arrested them.

A case has been registered in Konaje police station.

You are right, because I know from my college days experience in University college (then Government College) student’s strength and unity inside the campus. There used to be one voice and determination to deal with any outside rowdies.

Whatsoever, what is happening is too bad these days in Mangalore. We should blame those who have instigated and brain washed some of our youth. Mangalore goondas are following their own Taliban style. Finished.

When a villager went to an Airport and saw a plane for the first time in his life he was so thrilled that he forgot where he was standing.
Similarly when these immoral Rowdies stepped into University Campus for the first time in their life they were so thrilled that they forgot to run back and escape. Hence they could be easily caught by police.

For goons - at last their dream of going to the college has materialized. Actually these goons are just High School failed jobless boys. Now they could directly go to university bypassing the College, which shows their brilliance. So they could study directly for Post graduate course in immoral policing not in Konaje University campus but in jail. Tiny Advocate Jagdish Shenava of RSS/VHP may be already on his way to get them bail.

So what? Is there any law against girls and boys going for an outing together? When I was in college our group of 4-5 girls and some 6-7 boys, comprising Hindus, Muslims and Christians would go to the beach and nobody would bother us. But times have changed and now it is unthinkable because of these jobless goons.

Mangalore is already completely destroyed by these thugs and full support by police. Already its no secret that 60% of DK police is infiltrated by religious trained fanatics who report these outfits but take salary from government and that's our tax money!. Convert DK as soon as possible to the level of Afghanistan or Syria. All the best.

Mangalore is already turned into a socially cancerous city by the immoral rowdies.

Some years back in Punjab, by the order of Khap panchayat, a young Hindu couple who married outside their castes were hacked to death. When a highly educated man from Punjab was asked in Mumbai, he said Khap has done correct thing.

We have quite a few people in Daiji who have such sympathy with rowdies. Every establishment cannot keep bouncers to counter these rowdies. Also, RSS, VHP and BD trained youths have infiltrated into Police force and they will not allow Mangalore to attain its former glory.
