Klopp refuses to comment on Liverpool move

Leverkusen (Germany), Oct 7 (IANS): The British media is caught up in frenzied speculation about the possibility of his taking over as the next manager at Liverpool Football Club, but Jurgen Klopp remains non-committal about a move to the English Premier League (EPL).

Klopp has emerged as the leading candidate to replace former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers who was sacked by the club's owners Fenway Sports Group after a poor start to the season saw them drop to the 10th spot on the EPL table with just three wins from eight matches.

The 48-year-old is reportedly in talks with Liverpool, but both parties have remained tight lipped on the matter so far.

"There's nothing to say. Neither a definite yes nor a definite no. I'm going home now," the former Borussia Dortmund manager told German newspaper Bild after the meeting of the Federal German Football Coaches (LMA) here on Tuesday.

Klopp was the manager at Dortmund for seven years, leading the club to two Bundesliga titles and the Champions League final in 2013. During his time at the Westfalenstadion, Dortmund were noted for playing quick, counter-attacking football with a squad of talented but not yet established players.

Several former Liverpool players have also called on the club management to appoint the German as the next manager.
