Bengaluru: Siddu regime abolishes Yeddy's commission for cattle conservation

From Our Special Correspondent
Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Oct 7: Even as a section of the BJP leaders and most of the key persons of Sangh Parivar outfits are crying hoarse over banning beef and also for a blanket ban on Cow slaughter all across the country, Karnataka’s Congress government headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has decided to abolish the Goseva Ayoga (Commission for the Conservation of Cattle), which was constituted by the previous BJP government under the chief ministership of B S Yeddyurappa.

The State Cabinet at its meeting chaired by Siddaramaiah at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on Wednesday, decided to disband the Yeddy regime’s baby of Goseva Ayoga instituted in the year 2012.

The State Cabinet meeting decided to abolish the Ayoga and transfer its functions and powers to the Animal Welfare Board of the Animal Husbandry Department.

The previous BJP Government had set up the commission for enforce a ban on cow slaughter.

The 16-member Commission has the authority to ensure protection of cattle.

Soon after the Congress government came to power in 2013, it removed non-official members.

The members challenged the decision of the State Government in the High Court and got a stay.

The stay order against the GosevaAyogawas recently vacated and the High Court, which upheld the Government’s decision on setting up the Commission.

Briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting, Karnataka’s Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T B Jayachandra said the Animal Welfare Board has been entrusted with the task of protecting cattle.

"There is no need for having another separate Commission," the minister said and held that the GosevaAyoga would amount to waste of funds as the same work could be effectively handled by the State Animal Husbandry Department and the Animal Welfare Board.

The Congress government had last year repealed the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2012 passed during the BJP regime.

The 2012 bill proposed to ban the slaughter of cows and bulls.

Joint Venture Company formation for Dabhol-City gas pipeline

In another major decision, the State Cabinet mooted floating a joint venture company with the support Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) for implementing a Dabhol- Bangalore Natural Gas Pipeline project.

The Karnataka Natural Gas Ltd, the new joint venture company, will be set up with total investment of Rs 100 crore. The State government will invest Rs 24 crore, the minister said.

The State Cabinet has agreed to swap lands with Chettinad Cement Company at Kallur village in Chincholli taluk in Kalaburagi district.

The firm will give government 49.08 acres it acquired from private people and in turn the government will give 47.13 acres of gomal land to the company.

The land given by the firm will be used for gomal purposes (cattle grazing lands).

The State Cabinet also decided to handover government lands of 12,985 acres in various districts to the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board, which in turn allot lands for industrial purposes.

Those who are crying hoarse over baning beef and protecting cow should realize that there is more politics than real religious intention to widen the gap between communities and to gain political benefits and power. Infact, government also appoint a board for hygienic meat and to avoid cruelty to animals.

Honorable Chief Minister Siddharamaiah of Karnataka is performing good administration in Karnataka.
I urge Siddharamaiah and like minde to open cattle slaughter houses to each taluks as the meat prices are going up day by day.

ARE THE FUNDOOS TO DECIDE WHAT SHOULD BE IN MY PLATE???!!! AND WE DON’T HAVE THE FREEDOM TO EAT WHAT WE WANTED IN A DECMOCARATIC SOCIETY.

I kindly suggest and humbly request all these recently sprouted organizations to help open more cattle slaughter houses in every Taluks.

Presently we have only one cow slaughter house in Mangalore for the whole of South Kanara District.
    1) BELTHANGADY - NO COW SLAUGHTER HOUSE.
    2) SULLIA - NO COW SLAUGHTER HOUSE.
    3) BANTWAL - NO COW SLAUGHTER HOUSE.
    4) PUTTUR - NO COW SLAUGHTER HOUSE.

I AM NOT VERY SURE WHETHER CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE IS EXISTING IN UDUPI DISTRICT
    1) KARKALA – IF NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE SHOULD BE OPEND IMMEDIATELY.
    2) KUNDAPUR - IF NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE SHOULD BE OPEND IMMEDIATELY.
    3) BYNDOOR – NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE (PROPOSED TALUK)
    4) BRAHMAVARA – NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE (PROPOSED TALUK)

Due to only one Cow Slaughter House in Mangalore heavy to heavy burden on one and transportation of cows to-and-fro to all these Taluks increases the cost of meat.

MY EMOTIONAL SENTIMENTS FOR THE DELICIOUS BEEF ARE DAILY WOUNDED BY THE FUNDOOS.
Therefore, all meat consumers should have a meet to increase meat in the market there by allowing one each slaughter houses in each taluks/four taluks of the TWIN DISTRICTS.

THEN YOU WILL FIND THE MEAT PRICES WILL FALL DOWN IMMEDIATELY / INSTANTLY.

Wishing you all the best to meat eaters and non-meat eaters.

THE DEPUTY COMMISSIONER SHOULD TAKE UP THIS INITIATIVE TO OPEN SLAUGHTER HOUSES FOR EVERY TALUKS OF THE TWIN DISTRICTS.

    Dear
We Muslims too have the equal right as you hindus have in this country. We are too the citizen of India by birth. We are not here on your mercy.
India is not a religious place, it is a country of different faith and religion. No one is forcing you to consume Beef. You practice your religion and we do ours,

you keep cow as matha, we do keep cow as animal for milking, farming and eating.

    Hussain,
I am completely agree with you. More legal slaughterhouses will make the illegal ones to close down. So illegal cow stealing and transportation will automatically stop. Once this stops, I think communal tension in the district will come down by 90%.
Rest 10% will become 0 once love jihad too stops :)

Anyone who says cow is sacred and needs to be preserved should first tell whay they have done to the cow specially those on roads and goshalas!. Are they giving a part of their income to the cause!?. I will tell with certainty that the answer is a big NO!. Why we Indians should be deprived of eating bovine meat (not cow) when the same is exported to the world!?. Has anyone (those hating Siddu) protested against the central government!?.

During the 4 day go sammelan at Udupi Krishna mutt, everyone attacked the state government and congress but none talked about the central government and Gujarat government (largest exporter of beef) for exporting the same!. Why double standards! ?

Is it not absurd to ask whether they give part of their income for the cause of cows? Ask first whether they give part of their income to their physical mothers and then to GOMATHA.....They dont think like you do brother

The demolition of Ayodhya increased the terrorism in India followed by riots and threats, which is now impossible to solve.

Cow slaughter ban increased the cow theft cases and harm to cows, It also created injustice to meat eaters and to poor farmers lost their survival. Moreover these laws will divide the community peace and makes the civilian society into pieces.

It is visible that laws and isuues made by BJP in the Hindutva are to divide people and till date none of the issues are solved by them.
