Shahid thankful to choreographer Geeta Kapoor for dance lessons


Mumbai, Oct 8 (IANS): Actor Shahid Kapoor, who started his career in showbiz as a background dancer, has thanked choreographer Geeta Kapoor for teaching him the first dance steps of his dancing career.

The actor, who is gearing up to dazzle on the silver screen with the much-anticipated movie “Shaandaar" opposite Alia Bhatt, got nostalgic during the finale episode of a dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded”. Shahid is judging the Colors show and the finale episode will be aired on October 10.

Geeta had choreographed Shahid as a child for his very first advertisement, read a statement.

Confirming the news, film's spokesperson said: “Shahid turned nostalgic after a dance performance and thanked Geeta Kapoor for teaching him his very first dance step.”

Shahid, who grabbed headlines for his marriage with Delhi-girl Mira Rajput earlier this year, will be coming on the silver screen for the first time post his wedding with "Shaandaar".

"Shaandaar" is a romantic comedy against the backdrop of a destination wedding. Produced by Dharma Productions and Phantom Films, the film is directed by Vikas Bahl, and will release on October 22.
