Mangaluru, Oct 9 : Six Mangalureans, who won medals in the Asian Bench Press Championships-Oman 2015, were welcomed with enthusiasm at Mangaluru railway station on Friday, October 9.
Sathish kumar and Vivek kamath with gold medals, Vincent Prakash Carlo with bronze medal, Jayappa Lamani,Uday kumar and Nayana Shriyan with silver medals reached Mangaluru by Matsyagandha train.
Asian Bench Press and Powerlifting Championships were held in Muscat, Oman from October 1 to 6.
Speaking to the media on behalf of the winning team, Satish Kumar said "We are really happy to win this competition. We are overwhelmed to visit the city after winning this competition. People have recieved us with love. We are thankful for their support."
Thereafter all the winners were taken in a procession.
