Dubai, Oct 10: The audiences were treated to a sumptuous supply of Tulunadu language and culture at the culturally rich programme, 'Tulu Parba' which unfolded in front of their eyes at Al Nasr Leisureland Ice Rink Auditorium here on the evening of Friday October 9. While Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade inaugurated the event, being organized by UAE Tulu Koota in its silver jubilee year, Kapikad with his comedy and Kudroli Ganesh with his magical prowess, ensured that the event proved to be highly memorable.

Dr Veerendra Heggade, who initiated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp, hoped that Tulu Nadu will enjoy all-pervading happiness through integrated development. To achieve this, he asked all concerned to seriously contemplate on past, present, and future. He asserted that before implementing Netravati Diversion Plan, it needs to be scientifically scrutinized. He also felt that it is better to provide opportunities to people in lives through employment etc instead of just extending one time help financially, as such gestures will help the concerned life-long.

He appreciated Tulu Koota for keeping Tulu language and culture alive in the UAE and praised the rulers of Dubai for their generoisty and tolerance towards all religions and people. A place that has good discipline and a good system is 'Rama Rajya', he said.

Renowned entrepreneur from Dubai, Dr B R Shetty, speaking on the occasion, expressed readiness to contribute in whatever way he can, to achieve overall development of Tulunadu and Karnataka. He further said that Mangaluru is growing fast, and its much-awaited development into a Smart City will help the region grow further. He urged politicians from the region to unite and support developmental programmes.

Ronald Colaco congratulated Tulu Koota on the massive event that drew a huge crowd. "By presenting cultural tableaux and events, Tulu Koota has enabled children who are born and brought up here to get a tatse of the Tuluva culture," he said. He also raised concerns over growing communal differences back home, and wished that the coastal region would live with the same harmony as it did a couple of decades back.

Former MP, Jayaprakash Hegde, Tulu Sahitya Academy president, Janaki Brahmavar, former minister, Nagaraj Shetty, All India Tulu Okkoota president, Dharmapal Devadiga, Jayakrishna Shetty of Jaya Srikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti, Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld, Devadas Kapikad and Girish Shetty also participated as chief guests.

There was everything the audience aspired for. Comedy, magic, rich cultural programmes, grand procession celebrating sublime principles of harmonious coexistence, ample supply of unique eatables of Tulunadu, and sports competitions succeeded in creating an atmosphere of Tulunadu in this far off dream city. 'Telikeda Bolli' Devadas Kapikad and his team presented a humorous short play, which entertained the people to no end. The act presented by Kapikad, along with Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Aravind Bolar, Satish Bindale, Sunil Chitrapur and Jyotish Shetty evoked peels of laughter from the people who thoroughly enjoyed the programme.

'Vismaya Jadoo' fame Kudroli Ganesh's skills held the audiences spellbound. Ganesh, who proved once again why he happens to be one of the op magicians of the land, mesmerized the people by conjuring up science and sleight of hand to maximum affect. He clarified to the crowd that he was just using magical skills, and that no sorcery was involved in his shows.

Jasmita Vivek's performance was pregnant with richness of Tulu culture. With Tulunadu's 'Chennu Kunita', 'Kandeelu Kunita', Huli Vesha', 'Yakshagana' etc, his team won over the hearts of the people. A team of artistes led by Prashant Devadiga rendered saxophone performance, which too came in for lavish praise. 'Appana Tyaga' skit directed by Jayaram also came off beautifully.

A grand procession, which was organized during the programme, upheld the culture of harmony cherished by Tulu Nadu with a chariot in which Bharat Mata was seated, Mother Teresa created by Mangalore Konkans, Tipu Sultan of Dubai Bearys Cultural Forum, Koti Chennaya of Billavas, team of Yakshagana artistes from 'Yaksha Mitraru Dubai', Huli Veshas, saxophone artistes, Chende, and other musical instruments.

UAE Tulu Koota president, C R Shetty, welcomed everyone and delivered introductory address. The programme was beautifully presented by Dayanand Kattalsar, whose style thoroughly impressed the gathering.

Over all "Bolli Parba" was fabulous. One should pardon any small discrepancies in such a big event. Organizers must be applauded for their 100% efforts for the success of this memorable gathering.

The highlight of the Tulu Prabha was wonderful speech by Dr Veerendra Heggade.

Huge expectation from Devdas & group was perform as usual drama type act and lot of expectation from Kudroli Ganesh was able to present only normal Birthday party magic.
Stage coordinate was again not up to that standrad.

The programme was well prepared and congrats to the entire team for their efforts.

As per the schedule the progame was supposed to start at 0300 hours and programme started 0530. Please start the progame ontime specially in Dubai. The best programme of Magic and Drama which started too late with the viewers of only few. People really felt so bad missing the drama and Magic show as per me.

Please keep up the time mentioned to start the programme a delay of 15 minutes is expected but not 2 hours

Great efforts of the entire team
