China's Zheng toppled in Tianjin first round

Tianjin (China), Oct 12 (IANS): Eighth seeded Chinese Zheng Saisai lost in two sets to an unseeded player at the first round of the WTA Tianjin Open tennis tournament here on Monday.

The top Chinese and home favourite was beaten by Russian Evgeniya Rodina 5-7, 3-6, Xinhua reported.

Fifth seeded Kristina Mladenovic from France and Alison Riske of the United States both moved into the second round, beating Chinese Liu Fangzhou and Han Xinyun, respectively, in straight sets.
