Mangaluru: Badriya to embark on expansion programme

Mangaluru, Oct 15: The Executive Committee of Muslim Educational Association (MEA) which manages Badria Institutions, Kandak, Mangalore met for an historic meeting on October 11 took a momentous decision to embark on an ambitious Rs 100 crores expansion programme of Badria institutions called “Badria 100”, a Badria centenary initiative commemorating its centenary celebrations due soon.

This initiative will involve a number of schemes connected to the centenary celebrations of Badria namely upgradation of all existing infrastructural facilities at its present campus at Kandak, Bunder including all classrooms, new auditorium, atrium, a new Muslim hostel, refurbishing of Badria and Faize mosque and other works as well as procuring and development of new campus of Badria with ultra modern buildings and facilities in the proximity of Mangalore alongwith modern curriculum based education combined with optional religious Islamic studies with Arabic language as medium and also introduction of new academic courses as well as teacher’s training centres and programmes.

Announcing this, the President B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen said that this Badria centenary initiative “Badria 100” will cover all aspects of Badria as well as encompass all sponsors from all walks of life who have great affinity for Badria especially the old students of Badria, the diaspora of NRI’s and the general public who wish well for Badria. He opined that this initiative will soon pitchfork Badria as one of the premium institutions in the area and make it a front runner in the educational hub of Mangaluru. Unveiling plans to foray into professional colleges, science and other post graduate management colleges in the near future, the president said that this Badria centenary initiative “Badria 100” will have a steering committee of which S.M. Rasheed will be the Chairman and P.C. Hashir will be the Convenor.

The official launching of this ambitious Rs 100 crore initiative will take place soon in the month of October-November 2015 and requested the public to patronize the same in the interest of education.
