Mumbai: Kannada Sahitya Parishat holds 11th literary conference

Mumbai, Oct 19: Kannada Sahitya Parishat Maharastra unit with the cooperation of their Bangaluru unit held a two day long literary conference at Geetha Govinda auditorium at Sion east on Saturday, October 17.























Well known chanter and author Dr A V Prasanna inaugurated the conference. Kannada Sahitya Parishat Dakshina Kannada district president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura unveiled the shawl covering the books and inaugurated the books exhibition.

N R Rao of Narayanamratha foundation released book titled 'Saha Chintana' written by H S Poojary, 'Aaradirali Belaku' by Dr Karunakar Shetty, 'Rachane' by Leelavathi Rao, 'Devalaya Nirmana ondu Adhyayana' by K L Kundantaya, 'Nava Hejjegalu' by M B Kukyan and 'Bhava Bayalu' by G P Kusuma on the occasion.

Maharastra unit president H B L Rao presided over the centenary celebrations. Kannada Kalavidara Parishat Maharastra president Surendrakumar Hegde inaugurated the programme.

Dr Ramesh Moolagi Lathooru spoke about the problems faced by non resident Kannadigas and Dr Jyothi Sathish spoke on the way followed by Sahitya parishat and the challenges.

President of the conference felicitated and congratulated author and scientist Vyasarao Ninjooru, researcher Thalthaje Vasanthkumar and littérateur Dr G D Joshi.

Special achievers Shailaja Hegade, Shamala Madhav, Dr Poornima Srikrishna, Ghanapathi Durgaparasad Bhat, Dr Mamatha Rao, Raksha Madhusoodan, Vedamurthi Ramachandra Bayari, H S Poojary, Dr Sahana Pothi, advocate Amitha Bhagavath, Dr Manali P Rao, Bhagavatha Muddhu Anchan, Ramesh Shivapura, Captain Likita Girish, Pooja Devadiga, Sridhar Uchil, S K Sunder, Prema Rao and others were honoured and congratulated on the occasion.

Senior woman activist Mithra Venkatraj was presented 'Mitravali Abhinandana Grantha' book. Dr Vyasaraya Ninjuru congratulated. Guru Sukanya Bhat and Vidisha presented Bharathanatya as part of cultural programme.

Sunila Devadiga and Ranjani Moily sang folk song. Karnataka Sahithya Parishat Maharastra unit Vice president M B Kukyan welcomed and gave a key note address.
