Bhatkal, Oct 21: Anjuman Engineering College here has taken an initiative to join hands with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in realizing his 'Make in India' concept. In association with Indian Institute of Technology Madras, the college will be holding a workshop on 'industrial mechanization' for two days on November 7 and 8 this year.

The workshop is envisaged with the aim of providing impetus to Indian industry, plug brain drain and give added importance to use of modern technology. The participation has been limited for 60 to 70 students. Leading technological experts from the country will be participating in the workshop as resource persons. Mechanical, electrical and electronics will be the subjects of choice which will get added importance at this workshop, it is learnt.

Facility for seeking admission for the said workshop through online registration has already begun. In addition to students pursuing engineering degrees, diploma engineering students also can seek participation.

The organizers expect participation in the workshop by engineering students from Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Kerala. Principal of Anjuman Engineering College here, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Bavikatti, said that the workshop aims at contributing immensely to the country's progress by modernizing indigenous industries. "In addition to 30 students from our college, over 30 brilliant students from various parts of the country will take part in the workshop. Our college already had successfully organized 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' programme and our next ambitious plan is to bring into practice the 'Make in India' concept. The overall motto of the programme is 'vision and mission'," he explained.
