Mangaluru: Grace Pinto chosen for 'Basti Vaman Shenoy Seva Puraskar'

Mangaluru/Mumbai, Oct 22: Two distinguished personalities have been chosen for this year's 'Basti Vaman Shenoy Seva Puraskar' instituted by Vishwa Konkani Kendra (World Konkani Centre), Mangaluru.

The awards will be conferred on Grace Pinto, founder and managing director of Ryan International School, and Dr H Shantaram of Academy of General Education, for their immense contribution to the cause of education.

Having established over 150 Ryan International Schools across the country and in Europe and the US, Mumbai-based Grace Pinto has made her hometown, Mangaluru, proud.

The Awards consist of a citation and a shawl along with a sum of Rs one lac each.

The above Awards have been sponsored by WKC patron T V Mohandas Pai in appreciation of the services rendered by Basti Vaman Shenoy to the society in general and to Konkani language, literature and culture in particular.

The Awards will be presented at a function to be held during the month of November, said C D Kamath, chairman, Basti Vaman Shenoy Vishwa Konkani Seva Puraskar Committee.
