Udupi: 75- year-old man commits suicide, leaves death note

Udupi, Oct 23: A man who was an administrator of Uggalbettu Garadi committed suicide by consuming poison on Friday, October 23 in the Garadi house premises.

Mahabala Shetty (75) from Uggalbettu, Uppoor is the deceased person.





It is believed that the suicide incident took place in the early morning.

Police have found a death note at the spot. The death note reveals the names of four persons who are said to be responsible for the suicide. Death note also mentions the name of a prominent politician, who the deceased believed that, supported the four named persons.

There was a dispute for the past two years regarding the administration of the Garadi. It is said that some people were against Mahabala Shetty. A person had also borrowed Rs 2 lac from Mahabala Shetty which was not paid back promptly. One of the deceased’s neighbours had also filed a complaint against him. Hence he was depressed by these developments.

Brahmavar police have registered a case.
