Sharada Pooja festival 'Suvarna Sambhrama' concludes at Kandlur

Kundapur, Oct 23: “India is a country where we have more than 75 crore youths and several religious festivals. Religious festivals should not cause friction between religions, castes and such other groups. Instead of fighting for religion, the youths should fight for development”, said Udupi district superintendent of police (SP) Annamalai.






































He was speaking in the concluding ceremony of Golden Jubilee celebrations of Sharada Pooja festival committee held at Kannika Parameshwari temple premises, Kandlur on Thursday, October 22.

“Hindus and Muslims are equal in number at Kandlur. Except some small incidents, Sharadotsava committee has conducted the festival peacefully. Navarathri festival is a special day. On this day, the Almighty slaughters the evil and saves the religion. Navarathri festival is also an occasion when people staying in distant places come to home towns and be with each other with a sense of belonging and togetherness. Youth should indulge in religious work in harmony and steer the country forward”, he said.

Udupi Anantheshwara temple priest Sagri Vedavyasa Bhat gave a sermon on the occasion. Suvarna Mahotsava committee president Shashidhar Makkimane presided over the programme. Kandlur Kannika Vidhyabharathi Mahila Sangha honourary president Seema Vasanth Sheregar, Bengaluru Kannika Kangan Stores proprietor Krishnayya Jogi, businessman Rajashekar Jogi Kandlooru, Sharada Mahotsava committee honourary president Prabhakar Nayak, Secretary Manjunath Sheregar Makkimane, Suvarna Mahotsava committee secretary Vijaya Puthran and others were present.

A Yakshagana play was presented by Ananthapadmanabha Dashavathara Yakshagana Mandali Perdooru and guests artistes on this festive occasion.

Prakash Acharya welcomed. Suvarna Mahotsava committee executive president K V Balachandra Shetty gave a key note address. Professor Pratapchandra Shetty and Sharada Pooja Mahotsava committee president Dinesh Acharya Kandlooru proposed vote of thanks.

The concluding ceremony is schedule to be held on Friday, October 23 in the evening which will consist of band by well known musicians, masks, dance, tiger dance, special tableau, Nasik band, DJ set, electric decorative lights, crackers etc. The idol of Sharada Devi will be taken in procession from Kannika Parameshwari temple to Balkuru Bridge for immersion.
