Mangaluru, Oct 24: The founder president of Jaya Karnataka, N Muthappa Rai inaugurated ‘Jaya Karnataka Yuva Sammelana’ organized by Youth Wing of Jaya Karnataka at St Sebastian hall in city on Saturday, October 24.

After inaugurating the youth convention, N Muthappa Rai said, "I have seen politics very closely in my life. My painful days as a politician, started as soon as I associated myself with the politicians. some politicians even debarred me from entering this district. After that I was ashamed of politics and remained away from it and thought of flouting an organization for the social cause,”

Commenting on the selfishness of politicians in the various parts of the state, he said “Politicians address to the problems of people only before the election in their electoral speeches. But after the elections they are not accessible to common man and the problems of people remain unsolved.”

Rai called forth the youth to join this organization to fight against corruption and injustice. “This organization is floated without any expectation and selfishness. Started with just 18 people, now the organization has 20 lac activists throughout the state. I never did anything for my own gain. I was shot and five bullets hit me still I could survive because of the blessing of lord Mahalingeshwara,”

He further said that nearly 100 people from various parts of the country tried to kill him and almost 50 of them are not any more now.

He informed that 50% of his income is being spent for society and needy.

“Youths should never take a wrong path. They should be good leaders and render their service to the needy and society. Jaya Karnataka’s presence is not very strong in Dakshina Kannada because there is no unity. DK is divided in the name of religion and caste. In coming days, Jaya Karnataka will be the strongest organization in Dakshina Kannada, Struggle is essential to protect the interest and rights of people. Organizations should raise their voice against corruption and corrupt officers should fear these organizations” Rai added.

He also lauded the efforts of youth wing president, Sahaj J Rai in organizing the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Shakuntha Shetty, said, “Muthappa Rai through his organization and pro-social works, has become the brother of entire Karnataka state. Muthappa Rai and Jaya Karnataka helped during the last elections by supporting and voting me. Many people are coming forward to join this organization now."

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “I will always support this organization for its pro-social works and service to the state of Karnataka. We are not against providing water to draught hit areas.”

B N Jagadeesh, state president of Jaya Karnataka presented key note address.

State Amateur Kabbadi association president Rakesh Malli, district president of Jaya Karnataka, Shrikanth Shetty, Surendranath Alva, Diwakar Shetty were present among others.
