Mangaluru, Oct 28: In an incident which occurred at Delanatabettu Kaiyoor near Suratkal on Tuesday October 27, a man committed suicide reportedly after differences arose between him and his brother over some issue, and the two fought over it.

Venogopal (45) from the village ended his life by hanging himself.

The brothers had a bitter fight over the issue of using an electrical plug point to charge their cellphones on the night of Monday, it is gathered. The verbal frictions soon turned towards the issue of sharing of property. After this, two other brothers were also got involved with this quarrel.

Reportedly, Venugopal, one of those engaged in this fight, tried to murder his brother, Dombaiah, with a sickle. Dombaiah suffered grave injuries in this attack. He was admitted into a private hospital in the city.

Perhaps Venugopal regained his composure after sometime and repented for his misbehaviour. Dismayed about his own conduct, he went to Chelairu, and hanged himself from a a cashew tree there, which was located in the land belonging to the family.
