Puttur: Nine-year-old girl accidentally falls into well, dies

Puttur, Oct 28: In a tragic incident which occurred at Parane in Paltady village near Kadaba in the taluk on Tuesday October 27, a nine-year-old girl, who was playing in the courtyard of her home, accidentally fell into a well and lost her life.

Dhanushree, daughter of Balakrishna Gowda from Parane, Paltady, who was a third standard student of the government lower primary school at Manjunathanagara, lost her life in this accident. As she had holiday on Tuesday, Dhanushree was playing with her sisters near her home. She fell into the well, which does not have any protective wall, and drowned.

Immediately after the girl fell into the well, her mother, Dharmavati, raised an alarm. Locals rushed to the spot and brought the girl out of the well, but it was too late. The girl had breathed her last.

Taluk panchayat vice president, Dinesh Medu, Savanoor gram panchayat president, Indira B K, vice president, Ravikumar, members, Satish Balyaya, Satish Angadimoole, and Girishankar Sulaya, president of Manjunathanagara school development and monitoring committee, Honnappa Gowda, and several others visited the girl's house and consoled the grieving members.

    Very sad to hear the news. I express my condolence to the parents of the deceased girl. May God bless them with patience. My request to everyone to build protective wall for each and every well. We have come across such incidents in the past also, but none is giving more attention. I hope it will be better to take protection from now. Better be late than never.
