Dammam: Innovation, talent rule the day at MASA annual event

Dammam, Oct 29: Mangalore Association of Saudi Arabia (MASA) conducted its 9th Talents Day programme for its members recently at Crystal Hall, Dammam. Talents Day is an eagerly awaited annual event of MASA in which the members showcase their talents in various competitions such as fancy dress, dance and singing.

The event started with a welcome speech by entertainment committee head Gopal Shetty. The ceremonial lamp was lit by president Narendra Shetty along with executive committee and advisory committee members.

President Narendra Shetty briefed the purpose of the event in his welcome speech, while chief judge Dayanand Shriyan briefed on the contest rules.

The audience were spellbound by the mesmerizing performances by amateur and trained performers. About 93 items were performed in different categories by different age group of kids, teens and adults. During the course of the competitions, lots of amazing talents with new concept, creativity and classical acts were showcased. Judges had a tough time in selecting the best among the best.

The judges of the events were Jayard George, Rahul Salvi, Smitha Vasudev Warrier, Sujaya Karkera, Yogeesh Poojary, Mallika Amin, Chetana Poojary, Ritika Kamath, Vasudev Warrier, Eshwari Arikady, Ahmed Gulam Beary, Kiran Upadhyaya, Arshad Anjum, Divya Manohar and Neethu Rajesh. Timings and tally counters were managed by Prakash Shetty and Puttaraju.

Anchors for the evening were Nayaz Kaiser, Mahima Poojary, Sumithra Kadekar, Archana Shetty, Deepa Shetty, Mohammed Nooman and Sachin Hegde.

MASA committee members, volunteers and the participants ensured the event was conducted smoothly in a professional way.

The programme was powered by M/S Al Manafa Transport Services Co, M/S Arabian Cargo, Eagle Travel & Tourism Agency and Saudi Specialize Industrial Services (SASP).

A gathering of around 600 members and guests enjoyed the evening filled with stunning and exciting entertainment.

During the event, as a part of MASA’s tradition, the parents of members on visit from India were welcomed to the stage and felicitated.

The various assignments were led by Sathish Bajal and team (auditorium control), Praveen Peter Aranha and team (cash management), Ahmed Gulam Beary and team (catering management), Abdul Raheem Arkula and team (child control), Naveen Shetty Khobar and team (entry management), Vidyadhar Shetty and team (stage management), Jagajeevan Karkera and Chandrashekar (first aid), Narendra Shetty, Dayanand Chowta and team (green room), Sadashiv Poojary and team (guests care) Ranjith Shetty and Saleem Puttur (lighting control), Sukumar Shetty and team (safety and security), Viraj Kumar Shetty and team (sound management), Shakib Ahmed and team (stage co-ordination), Puttaraju and team (raffle), Gopal Shetty and Dayanand Chowta (awards management). Award ceremony of winners was conducted by Ravi Karkera and Naveen Bhandary.

All participants below age group 18 were awarded with participation medals and winners were presented with trophies.

A splendid evening ended with National Anthem with memorable note and indeed it was a thrilling, exciting and rejoicing evening. Advisory committee member Ravi Karkera invited the gathering for upcoming events MASA's food festival 2015 followed by Annual Day.
