Muscat: MCCP’s Inaugural Sangeet Sobhann on Aug 10

Muscat, Aug 7: The Mangalorean Catholic Centre of the Parish, MCCP (Saints Peter and Paul Church – Ruwi) is all set to present “Sangeet Sobhann 2007”, a Konkani musical programme on August 10, 2007 in the main parish hall during their inaugural function - 2007.

As officially announced by Stanley Fernandes, current president, Dilip Correa, main coordinator for cultural, spiritual and community services committees and Valerian Dantis, main coordinator for sports and finance committees, the inaugural day 2007 programme will commence at 10.30 am with a High Mass in Konkani. Fr. Albert D’ Silva OFM Cap will be the main celebrant.

Thereafter the cultural programme will commence which includes an enthralling music programme - “Sangeet Sobhann 2007”. An official induction of the new executive committee for 2007-08 will also be held.

Beaming with a sense of satisfaction as he spoke to Daijiworld.com, Dilip said,  “ I am proud to inform you that the entire MCCP team, including the sub-committee members, has been preparing for many days now to present a superb musical extravaganza to our community on August 10.  We are planning to present the programme with lilting music, rib-tickling comedy and certainly and enjoyable dance.  For the first time in its history, MCCP will be providing a plank to our young and talented musicians of our community.”
 
Monica Dantis, one of the coordinators of ‘Sangeet Sobhann 2007’, highlighted the uniqueness of the programme. “It was our dream to offer an opportunity to our up-and-coming youngsters and musicians a platform to exhibit their talents, that too in front of our own community and we have succeeded in achieving the goal. It is like translating our vision into reality. ‘Sangeet Sobhann 2007’ will be a programme loaded with a lot of fun, comedy and music.  Renowned Konkani singers  of Muscat and blossoming young talents will be joining hands in this programme. We, all the members of our team, have worked very hard to present one of the finest programmes to entertain everyone. It will be a fascinating programme, without any doubts.”  

Traditional lunch will be served after the programme.
