Udupi, Oct 31: In a tragic incident, a college girl committed suicide by hanging in a house at Nedoor near Mandarthi under Brahmavar police limits here on Saturday October 31.

The deceased has been identified as Ramyashree (17), a student of second PU arts in a college at Mandarthi. She was staying in her grandmother's house at Nedoor.

On Saturday morning, her aunt woke her up when it was time to get ready for college, but Ramyashree said that she was feeling unwell and would stay at home. Her aunt then left for the cashew factory where she is employed.

While her grandmother was busy in the kitchen and her uncle, a farmer by profession, had gone to the field, Ramyashree hanged herself from the fan in the room she slept in.

The incident came to light only later when Ramyashree's brother looked into her room. She did not leave any death note and the reason for the taking the extreme step is not yet known.

Brahmavar circle inspector Arun Naik and other police personnel visited the spot.

Ramyashree had lost her parents sometime ago and was since living with her aunt and uncle. One of her elder brothers passed away about five years ago. She leaves behind three other brothers, of whom one is working in Dubai, one in Bengaluru and another is at home.

Brahmavar police have registered a case.

Sad incident. At least she should have left behind a clear death note than putting everybody in suspect.

Who knows what difficulties she was facing in her grand parents house. May be she need some money for her expense and to whom she will ask? if she had parents she would have told them her feelings. at last she must have thought why I should become a burden to my uncle and aunt?

With two working bothers finance may not be the issue, or the loss of parents, brother which she may have gotten over with after living with a loving aunt/uncle, grandmother, and a brother around. The cause perhaps is quite different, aged 17 (tender, immature), good looking et al. Time to get rid of ceiling fans? I'm not being sarcastic and my sympathies for her. Thoughtfully enough she did not lave a note. The 'challenges' in life for men and women could be quite different.

We cant even imagine what she's going through after losing parents and brother. But suicide isn't the answer for everything. I wish she would have made herself stronger and overcome all the sorrows. Very tragic indeed. RIP.

These days suicide tendencies are increasing among students. Life is precious face it and live longer. There should be lessons from teachers about the importance of life and under any circumstances one should not end his life. For every thing there is solution. It is natural that parentless girls face problem when they stay in relatives house and suicide is not the solution.

I could not understand why people are wasting the God gift which is so valuable. Why are they committing suicide for minor reasons. Why cant the face and challenge. We should enjoy the life whichever way it comes to us. All cannot be same. We should be thankful to God and be happy with whatever He has gifted us. I am sorry on this issue and express my condolence to the family. Ramya should have not done this crime. I request everyone to be bold and do not take any coward step.
