Mangaluru Udyoga Mela to be held on Nov 19, 20 at Benjanapadavu

Mangaluru, Nov 2: "Mangaluru Udyoga Mela 2015 will be held on November 19 and 20 at Canara College, Benjanapadavu," revealed district incharge minister Ramanath Rai at Circuit House here on Monday, November 2.

Addressing the media, Ramanath Rai said, "With an intention to provide employment to the unemployed youth, 'Mangaluru Udyoga Mela 2015', a job fair will be organized on November 19 and 20 at Canara College, Benjanapadavu campus. The job fair will give basic information to the job aspirants about qualification, how to face interviews and other details. Two preliminary meetings in this regard were held in Bengaluru. One meeting was held with the industries department and IT sector and the other meeting was held with the CEOs and HRs of top companies. Both the meetings were positive.

"As many as 192 companies have agreed to take part in this Udyoga Mela, out of which 45 have already registered. Top companies like BMW, TCS, Oracle, Narayana Hrudayalaya, Keonics, KSRTC, BSF and many top companies of our country will be coming to this Udyoga Mela. Companies from abroad like NMC, Thumbay group have also agreed to take part. A meeting will be held in Dubai and more companies will be invited from the Middle East," he added.

"As of now about 1,111 job aspirants have registered their names online. This Udyoga Mela is open for all degree, postgraduate, B Pharma, nursing, ITI, engineering and many more skilled and unskilled youths. If this job fair becomes a success then we may organize job fairs every year.

"Orientation and training programme will be conducted in every taluk on November 7 and 8 from 9 am to 5 pm. These programmes will be held at Karnataka polytechnic college in Mangaluru, Alva’s college in Moodbidri, Government College in Mulky, St Bridget’s school in Sullia, Model high school in Beltangady and St Victor high school in Puttur. There is huge requirement for degree graduates. 75 trainers are assigned throughout the district for the orientation. We are expecting 200-plus companies and 8,000-10,000 aspirants. Meeting will also be held with the local companies here in Mangaluru. The main aim of this job fair is to provide employment to the youth of Dakshina Kannada. Yettinahole

Answering the questions of media persons on the controversial Yettinahole project Ramanath Rai said, "This was a project passed in the Assembly with the consent of all the members. So let the opposition leader of the house Jagadish Shettar raise the issue in the Assembly. Then, as district in-charge minister, I will talk to the chief minister. BJP leaders are taking one stand here and a different stand in the Assembly in Bengaluru."
