Conditional bail granted for BJP man who threatened to behead CM

Shivamogga, Nov 5 (DHNS): The JMFC second court on Wednesday granted conditional bail to district BJP general secretary S N Channabasappa who threatened to behead Chief Minister Siddaramaiah if he ate beef in Shivamogga.

The saffron party functionary made the remarks during a protest rally in the city on November 2.

Judge Jayaprakash warned Channabasappa not to make such provocative statements in the future. The court also directed him to co-operate with the police in the investigation and furnish a personal bond of Rs 25,000.

Advocate Raghavendra argued on the BJP functionary’s behalf. Public prosecutor Deepak objected to his bail.

Scores of BJP workers gathered outside the court complex to greet Channabasappa.

‘Case against CM’

Rajya Sabha member Ayanur Manjunath on Wednesday said the BJP would lodge a complaint against Siddaramaiah and Congress leader L R Shivarame Gowda on Thursday in Shivamogga.

Speaking to media persons, he said Siddaramaiah had hurt the sentiments of the majority community while trying to appease the minorities. A private complaint will be lodged against him, he said, adding that a separate complaint would be lodged against Gowda for threatening to behead Channabasappa, during a live interactive programme telecast by a private news channel.

“Gowda has been accused of involvement in a journalist’s murder case. So, there is a threat to the life of Channabasappa. If anything happens to him, Gowda will be held responsible,” Manjunath said.

However, he said the party disowned the statement of Channabasappa. “It is not our political culture. It is his personal view.”

What does BJP have to say about 'beheading' remark, asks Siddaramaiah

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday took on the BJP over one of its leaders’ threat to “behead” him if he dared consume beef in Shivamogga.

“They want to behead me and play football with my head. Should such statements be accepted? What does the BJP have to say,” asked Siddaramaiah, replying to queries from reporters on the sidelines of an event in Bengaluru.

Siddaramaiah trained his guns on the BJP. “Their only agenda is to play the communal card to secure votes. They want to divide the society on communal lines. Dalit children are being burnt in BJP-ruled Haryana. We are not instigating them. Can such things be accepted,” Siddaramaiah demanded.

JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy demanded that the BJP and the Congress end the “charade” on beef consumption and focus on issues like farmers’ plight.

Attacking the BJP and its leaders for their take on beef, Kumaraswamy demanded that they impress upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stop beef exports worth Rs 26,000 crore annually.

Targeting Siddaramaiah, Kumaraswamy said it was not the “job” of the chief minister to discuss or debate on his food habits.

“More than 650 farmers have committed suicide in the State and the numbers continue to grow. Instead of debating eating beef and pork and the so-called growing intolerance, the chief minister should address the plight of farmers,” said the former chief minister.

CM SHOULD BEHAVE LIKE CM OF A STATE NOT FOR COMMUNITY. FOR HIS WRONG HE HAS BEEN AWARDED WITH SUITABLE REMARKS BY VOTERS.
KARNATAKA STATE IS LIKE "MANGANA KAIYALLI MANIKYA" WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO OR WHAT TO SPEAK AND NOT TO SPEAK.
TODAY HE BLAMES BJP FOR ONE'S OWN VIEWS AND TOMORROW WILL BLAME MODI WHEN FARMERS ISSUE ARISE. HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TACKLE ISSUES RELATED TO STATE BUT BOTHERED ABOUT BEEF.
IF HE REALLY CONCERNED ON BEEF ISSUE LET HIM EAT BEEF FIRST AND THEN TALK.

Received on Wapp thought of sharing
Some lessons from UAE, an Arab Nation, that democratic India can take.
In Dubai's famous Abra creak some people from India getting ready to immerse the Idol of Ganesh into sea.
Remember, it is a country where even throwing a plastic cup to water bodies are treated punishable offence and toughly dealt with. Still, the rulers of Dubai permits this ritual, just because it is a religious affair.
Secondly, Camel is a national animal in Arab countries.
if your vehicle hit a camel, you will have to pay the fine as if you have hit a human being. But if you want to eat a camel, you can do so according to their slaughtering norms.
Thirdly, if you go to malls, you will find a notice board with a warning 'not for Muslims'. it is pork sold inside in these cabins, mostly for other nationals who want to use it.
And finally, UAE is a country that have banned liquor according to Islamic principles. But all non Muslims can carry some restricted number of bottles if they want.
This is the essence of tolerance.
Democratic India has to take it from UAE, I believe.
The cultural stupidity that our Ministers and MPs speaks sounds hollow comparing to this small nation with more than 180 or so nationalities living peacefully in it.

Mr.Rudolf, I agree your point, but is it possible only in UAE, why because UAE is run by majority of non-UAE people, so their Govt also give little freedom to the public. But the same rules of UAE whether 100% applicable in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan? let me know Sir.

unfortunate to see so many comments in favour of Siddaramayya who gave such a stupid statement. Actually we all doesn't carry any religious value. I know it's stupid to talk on these. but were we not taught Cow is considered as holy animal and considered as goddess. Today one minister is giving such a statement as he will eat cow, who is going to stop ... how dare he ... worst part is, instead of opposing that gentleman giving such stupid messages playing with the sentiments of Hindus, we are supporting him... very sad to see the current age where we live.... one day this same CM will India as a Muslim country and we will still be sitting silent... just watching...

    Benefit of this cow security:
    1. More than 10 million people will get job
    2. when cows are safe then their wont be any riots or incidents
3.let government keep extra budget for grass for cows

    Narahantaka - is Past Tense.
    Runda Chendaduve -is Future Tense.
Narahantaka is just Cursing about what happened in the past and not a threat to any one's life.
But Runda chendaduve is a future threat to the life of a person, so Court takes note of future threat and not any curse about what happened in the Past.
