Blow to cops as Maharashtra gives Rajan cases to CBI

Mumbai, Nov 6 (TOI): In a major setback to Mumbai police, all cases against gangster Chhota Rajan have been handed over to the CBI, the state government announced late on Thursday evening.

It's the first time cases related to the underworld have been taken away from Mumbai cops, and is the second instance of a case transferred to the CBI in recent times without offering any strong reasons. The Sheena Bora murder case was shifted in September after then police commissioner Rakesh Maria was promoted and shunted.
