Kasargod, Nov 6: The body of a recently married woman was found in a well in Uduma under Bekal police station limits here on Friday November 6.

The deceased has been identified as Srilatha (26), wife of Biju, a resident of Mukkunnath, Uduma.

It is said that Srilatha went missing on Thursday November 5 night, after which the family members searched for her. On Friday, her body was found in a private well in the neighbourhood.

The fire brigade personnel and the police who arrived at the spot retrieved the body.

The body was sent to Pariyaram Medical College for post-mortem.

Srilatha was the daughter of Achuthan and Janaki, residents of Nellikunje. She married Biju January 21 this year. After the wedding, Biju left for the Gulf where he is employed.

Srilatha had visited her parental house on November 2 to vote in the local elections and gone back to her in-laws' house. Her sudden death has raised suspicions.

Bekal police have registered a case and are investigating.
