Mangaluru: Drunken bus staff enter bus, assault driver, conductor

Mangaluru, Nov 7: In an incident which occurred near the entry point to Shibarur temple on Kateel Road near here on Friday November 6 afternoon, three persons who were in a drunken state, entered a bus and attacked its driver and conductor brutally. They also shattered window glasses of the bus and vandalized the area.

Sunil, driver of 'Navadurga' bus which plies between the city and Kinnigoli, and conductor, Taranath, suffered injuries in this sudden attack.

The attackers have been identified as Suresh Yekkar, Prasad Shetty and Umesh, all from Yakkar Durganagara, who are employees of the 'Golden' bus which also moves on the same route. It is said that the attackers, who were fully drunk, intercepted the bus near Shibarur entrance, and damaged the bus with wooden logs, lever and stones, besides turning their ire at the conductor and driver of the bus.

The injured have been admitted into a hospital in the city. Case of murder attempt has been lodged at Bajpe police station against the attackers.

    Looks like the attach was planned.Only to look like drunken,they had done it.May be they were getting less passengers?Now the owners of Navadurga bus must make the "drunken "People to pay the damage .so that next attach should be without alcohol and case can be followed.This alcohol!damm with it.How many People ,homes are destroyed.People get sick and die earlier than other People.How many children ,have to suffer with this alcohol attacks?
