Continuing the tradition of honoring achievers, KMCA felicitated Sanjay Kudri, one of the senior expats from Karnataka who has been the pillar of strength of almost all the Karnataka-based associations in Qatar for long.

KMCA souvenir 'Pragati' was released on the occasion.

Stage was then set for the address by chief guest of the evening H R Ranganath, the firebrand and popular media man from Karnataka who is also the CEO of Public TV. He addressed the gathering in his unique style and passed on a beautiful message hailing the efforts of expats in keeping alive the language and traditions of Karnataka even in the far off desert land. His message was received with thunderous applause by the gathering.

Following this stage was thrown open for cultural programme wherein noted artistes flown in from Karnataka entertained the audience. Multi-talented Omganesh who has performed in more than 40 countries led the troupe. Omganesh is known for his magic tricks and shadow plays. He entertained the audience with his magic and superb oratory skills. He also displayed his unique skills in shadow play.

Asadullah Baig, a banker by profession and poet by vocation was at his witty best with his Kanandashayaris and poems. He has a special talent to capture the attention of the audience with his catchy poems and Kannada shayaris. His mastery over the language coupled with oratory skills were on full display as he dished out a delicious literary fest to the gathering for over 20 minutes’ non-stop performance.

Sathish Hemmady, the ‘Milk Can Escapist’ is a young magician who had carved out a niche for himself even at the international level. His ‘umbrella’ unwind act is a rarity and has brought him great name and fame at various quarters. His performance was one the highlights of the day.

But the icing on the cake was the art of young Vilas Nayak, proud son of Mangaluru. I was amazed when I saw the Masters of ceremony speaking such a fluent Kannada, being Muslims that the chief guest Mr Ranganath himself praised them. Along with that all the members of KMCA were very well versed in Kannada language being Muslims. Two simple personalities on stage were Mr Ranganath who is from Karnataka n had came to Qatar to attend the event n Mr Niyaz Ahmed who too hails from Karnataka but stays in Qatar..I thank KMCA for giving me an opportunity to meet Mr Ranganath such a strong n elegant personality who is so down to earth even though he is very much knowledgeable n talented he presents himself so simple he enlightened the gathering with so many important issues which makes us realise the present status of world, position and standing of kannadigas in world, how much we are helping our state, our nation by sacrificing so many things and staying far from the mother nation, which gave us encouragement to work hard n achieve excellence, an another personality sharing the stage with mr Ranganath was Mr Niyaz Ahmed who is the president of KMCA n worth praising, an actor behind curtains who strive hard n had put al things together to bring it out on right track n made the event big success with all his hard work n dedication hats off to mr niyas Ahmed. Being a president he had given equal opportunities to all the members of KMCA to share the stage properly he showed that unity is strength, he was not partial towards anyone like other associations usually do. Im thankful to KMCA for making me meet Mr Vilas Nayak who is such a famous n exceptional painter his incredible n stunning painting skills r excellent which worth in Lakhs. All the artists were so sweet happy n patient, were not at all proud they gave chance to click photos for everyone I wish KMCA continue doing such a marvellous work n be an good example to people around..
