Kundapur, Nov 10: A serial accident on NH-66 near Jalady here on Tuesday November 10 claimed the life of a man.
The deceased has been identified as Datta Singh (50) from Mumbai.
The accident took place between a Bolero pickup, an Eicher vehicle and a fish tempo.
It is learnt that Datta was driving the pickup vehicle from Pune to Mangaluru, while the Eicher vehicle was moving from Hubballi to Mangaluru and the fish tempo from Kerala to Navunda.
While trying to overtake, Datta rammed into the Eicher vehicle which was in front of him and then smashed into the empty fish tempo.
Datta was killed on the spot and the Bolero pickup was badly damaged.
Following the accident, traffic on the highway was affected for sometime.
The body was taken to the mortuary at Kundapur government hospital.
Kundapur traffic police have registered a case.
