Mangaluru, Nov 12: The VHP and Bajrang Dal on Friday November 13 will hold 'rasta roko' at several places in Mangaluru and around in protest against the violence that erupted in Madikeri over the celebration of Tipu Jayanti on November 10, in which VHP leader Kuttappa lost his life.

Addressing a press meet here on Thursday November 12, VHP leader Jagadish Shenava said that roads will be blocked at Mahaveer circle, Pumpwell, Hampankatta junction, Mulky junction, Suratkal junction, Thokkottu, Moodbidri, Gurpur, Kaikamba and Bajpe between 11 am and 12 noon.

"From past three years, several anti-Hindu elements have emerged and the main reason for this is the anti-Hindu policy of the Congress government. From withdrawing the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Protection Bill, to celebrating Tipu Jayanti, chief minister Siddaramaiah is playing vote bank politics in everything. Prashant Poojary's murder in Moodbidri and that of Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Kuttappa in Madikeri are proofs of this anti-Hindu stand of the government," he alleged.

"Illegal cow slaughter, love Jihad and disappearance of girls are happening constantly. Hence, to condemn the anti-Hindu rule of the state government and the Madikeri incident, VHP and Bajrang Dal have called for a state-wide protest and blocking of roads from 11 am to 12 noon. There will be no bandh," he added.

Asked if the protest would not put the public to inconvenience, Shenava said, "People who are attending marriages and other functions are requested to leave early and we will give way for ambulance. We are also co-ordinating with the city traffic police department."

To a question on the decision to take back the bandh, he said, "We are not affraid of the government and districts which want to observe bandh can go ahead. We will fully support them. We discussed the matter with our senior leaders and decided to take back the bandh. We are not going to disturb anyone during the protest and we are expecting 400 to 500 people to join us."

Jitendra Kottari, chief secretary of VHP said, "CM Siddaramaiah is triyng to disturb the communal harmony in the society by celebrating Tipu Jayanti. Even Catholics and Muslims are opposing it. Congress is trying to destroy the Hindu community. By celebrating Tipu Jayanti, Congress is favouring PFI and SDPI. People of Karnataka want to know why the government is doing this."

Gopal Kuthar, Praveen Kuthar and others were also present.

Mangaluru: No bandh on Nov 13 - only protest, say Hindu leaders

Daijiworld Media Network-Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Nov 12: There are strong rumours that bandh has been called in Dakshina Kannada especially in Mangaluru on Friday, November 13 by Hindu organisations protesting against the observation of Tipu Jayanthi and the death of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) worker Kuttappa in Madikeri. Replying to this Hindu organisations have clarified that they are not going to observe any bandh and in fact it is going to be only a protest.

Jagadish Shenava and Sharan Pumpwell the leaders of Vishwa Hindu parishad and Bajrang Dal respectively have said that the state-wide protest will be observed in all district and taluk centres including Dakshina Kannada on Friday. The protest rally will be held between 11 am and 12 noon and will include blocking of roads. The leaders of the Hindu organisations from twin coastal districts gathered at Sangha Nikethan in city on Wednesday to decide on the preparation for the protest.

“The government is responsible for the present tension and unrest in the state. Chief Minister is trying to appease the minorities and playing vote bank politics. Because of this, innocents like Prashant Poojary and Kuttappa have been killed. Siddaramaiah should own moral responsibility and should resign.” said Sharan Pumpwell in a statement.

No public meetings –Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim

Meanwhile a high level meeting was convened on Wednesday in the leadership of deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim to make arrangements to maintain law and order on November 13 in the wake of bandh rumours and the protest called by Hindu organisations.

“No public meetings and gatherings will be held on Friday, November 13. For the gatherings for which permission has been given, will be withdrawn. Liquor sale is prohibited on that day and all bars and wine shops will remain closed. All government employees should report to work without failure. The leaves approved for that day stand cancelled. All the tahasildars in taluk centres have been told to make preparations to maintain law and order.” said A B Ibrahim after the meeting.

Police commissioner S Murugan, superintendent of police S P Sharanappa, ADC Kumar, DCP Shantharaju, MCC commissioner Dr Gopalakrishna and others were present in the meeting.

You have a right to protest but do it in such a way that the general public will appreciate you and notice why you are protesting. Use your time and energy to cover the potholes on roads you are trying to protest. Display your VHP and Bajranj Dal banners at these areas when the work is in progress. I bet you will be well noticed and well appreciated. Causing inconvenience to public will only earn you nothing but hatred.

    Bandh.
These bandhs were making the children feel happy with closure of schools. The actual effect of these bandhs on education The children lose the joy of gathering with friends and have fun in the school.

Teachers were not getting sufficient time to cover the syllabus. As few teachers may try to hurry up to complete their portion and they might end up with insufficient explanation which leads to lack of interest in the students.
As most of the schools/colleges have to postponed their exams,
So we wish that no bandh calls should affect the education of young minds

There is nothing wrong in loving their own live stock. Everyone loves and takes care of them. Whether it is a chicken, pig, rabbit, cow, goat or a sheep each has its own objective for the person rearing it.

There is hardly anyone who uses the milk of the cow slaughters it for meat. They sell it, after it reaches its prime to buy new one. That is been a cycle for small households with farmland for generation. If there is a reverence they will not sell it and they should not.

It is a hypocracy that selling a gomata for money is okey, but someone buying it and eating it is criminal. In that analogy the seller is more criminal than buyer, how can he or she sell their own mother?

Further, RSS and BJP are both hypocratic in everyway in this issue.
    1. The cows raised mostly these days are foreign breeds not Indian native. Why they have such reverence which is foreign?
    2. They have never say selling is criminal offense.

Commemorating bdays of any individual is not prescribed in Islam. but Tipu sultan should be considered as a National Hero who fought against the British rule in India. It is also alleged that Tipu converted lakhs of hindus and christians to islam by force. The point here to be noted is that if it was true then there wouldn't have been a single non muslim in south india. our non muslim brothers & sisters are the witness today that Tipu was a liberal ruler.

Tipu Jayanti had no achievable goals, except for politics. It is a congress master stroke to tell minorities that your name itself is sufficient for RSS, BJP to fight against. I guess it achieved that.

Some members of minorities in many part of the country were trying to get engaged with BJP for their own personal aspiration. Congress wanted to remind them that they are second class in BJP. Beware. RSS and BJP both played the part what congress expected them to do. As simple as that.

Dear VHP & BJD Leaders and all the supporting Hindus, please carry on your protest and your protest should be against the Government who ignited this issue of Tippu Jayanthi from nowhere and please understand that majority of Muslims also don’t want to celebrate Tippu Jayanthi.

We all know that, there was a ruler by name Tippu Sultan known as the Tiger of Mysore who ruled Mysore with whatever his policies and I think being a ruler or a King he too followed what other rulers did to save their power, dynasty, Kingdom or the rule by crushing his opponents. So I think, like other rulers Tippu too has done what is right for his rule. Now if the our Hindus & Christians feel that they don’t want to provide any honor to Tippu, then they should be crushing the Government who ignited this unwanted issue like Tippu crushed his threats!

Dear all and dear common people of our society, please think over it and we as noble & peace loving citizens of Mangalore should fight against VHP, BJD and such groups not to spoil the peace of our society like the former rulers who fought against their enemies. So NO Bandh, NO disruption to the day to day life & business and NO to any violence.

Hindu leaders statements is nothing but a - "the lesson learnt from Bihar" (correct me if i am wrong)

The Bihar poll outcome sent a clear message that Secular Hindu's are no longer supporting BJP...,
secular Hindu's voice is loud & clear .., enough is enough...,

Parivar think tank must understand that it should work for the social & cultural betterment of Hindustan.., Nagpur must realise & solely take accountability for the BJP's loss of Bihar election.

Underlying wisdom is - "any effort to mix religion in politics will give a diminishing return in secular Hindustan"

It was apparent in Bihar election that in order to maintain & uphold the secular credentials of Hindustan even wildest of wild enemies come together to defeat anti-secular forces.

Even BJP's marg-darshak mandal is up in arms to teach, correct & mend the mind of BJP leaders who lead Bihar poll.

The VHP / Rama Sene / Bajrang Dal's anti social activities brought down the BJP in Delhi / Bihar. These fringe elements should be rounded up and sent to school / college for education and to see India prosper and grow.

Bandh is not a Elucidation for any protest. We have to resolve this by Negotiation with concerned authority. Calling A bandh, turn into Defilement, it is problem for AAM ADMI.Regarding Tippu Jayanthi, we are also supporting you sir

VHP n BD are trouble mongers n haters..Now we all know whats hindutva...people should use their brain n differentiate between hinduism,,which is a religion n way of life n hidutva which is designed as a political tool to spread communual tension....It is they who have been creating problems n unrest in the name of religion, culture, morality..etc..etc..
