Kundapur: Noted cine director Nagathihalli stung by honeybees, hospitalized

Kundapur, Nov 12: Well-known Kannada cine director, actor, short story writer and lyricist Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar has been admitted to a private hospital after he was stung by a swarm of bees on the evening of Wednesday November 11.

Nagathihalli was attacked by a swarm of giant honeybees when he was shooting for his latest Kannada directorial venture, 'Ishtakamya' in and around malnad regions of Sringeri and Koppa in Chikkamagaluru district.

It is gathered that the film unit was shooting near the hanging bridge at Nitttor in Hosanagara taluk a little distance away from here, when it was suddenly attacked by over a hundred giant honeybees.

Four to five other people in addition to Nagathihalli were also attacked by the bees. Three of them were admitted into the primary health centre at Kollur, whereas Nagathihalli, a dress designer of the unit, as well as driver Krishna, were admitted into the hospital here, taking into account the seriousness of their condition.
