Mangaluru: Accident near Adyarkatte - car driver killed on spot

Mangaluru, Nov 12: After a KSRTC bus hit a car near Kannur Adyarkatte on national highway 75 near here on Wednesday November 11, the driver of the car lost his life on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Muqtar from Koppal.

Shariff and Muqtar from Koppal were travelling by the ill-fated car, when a KSRTC bus hit their vehicle at Beerpugudde Cross in Adyar village. As a result, the car hit the road divider and somersaulted twice before landing. Muqtar, who suffered severe head injuries in this accident, died on the spot. A complaint about the accident was registered in rural police station.

Driver of the KSRTC bus in question, Umesh Savalagi, in a counter complaint, alleged that a number of people who gathered there after the accident damaged the bus, obstructed him from discharging his duties, tore down his uniform, and snatched away his cellphone and Rs 100 in cash. This complaint too was filed in the city rural police station.
