Bantwal, Nov 12: A group of miscreants stabbed a youth to death at Manihallla near BC Road here on the night of Thursday November 12. Another person was injured in the incident.

Harish (28), a resident of Navoor, succumbed to stab injuries while his friend Samiulla has been admitted to hospital.

It is learnt that Harish and Samiulla had been to an open ground to play cricket. On the way back, they stopped at a shop to have tender coconut water, and then walked home.

When they reached near the Old Gate area, some persons came in a car and stabbed Harish with a knife. Samiulla rushed to his friend's rescue, but he too was stabbed by the assailants.

A seriously injured Harish was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead.

Samiulla, who also sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

Following the incident, the police have stepped up security in the area.

We must just wonder why clash between communities for such incidence. Sad that it happened but It was an example of solidarity and strength of friendship between boys of 2 different communities. shame on us and political parties ( whose motive should be to unite people) who cook their own food out of it. There should have been UNITY AND PEACE MARCH for this.. Funny and sad illusive we are... :(

If you had any little bit of education, you wouldn't be talking like this!! Shame on you, people like you bring disgrace to your community. Neither I have seen my rama or you have seen your allah, its the belief we follow and any educated person will respect each others religion. If you have any responsibility towards your society, motivate peace! One positive mind is good enough to stop 1000's of negative mind.

for the personal grudge they waited, stabbed and mingled the incident to tippu jayanthi. To my knowledge Tippu jayanthi was not asked by the muslim brothers. It is a worst political play by Sidhu to secure the vote bank of minority. For the people my request, now this is an internet world so that you can get information which is right or wrong. Go search the truth and recognized it and inform others. Doing shameful things and make suffer all is easy. Their are many problem in mangalore to solve. No one ready give hands to good things. All where focused on this news but just focus at mudubidri 9 children aged below 8 to 15 joined hands to dig a 18 feet well and get water to village. we must entertain this kind of activities not the communal & emotional things....

If you dont know, better keep quite and let the investigators find the culprits. all of us can assume.. also if someone is following the incidents int he last few days, they can do better assumption than your biased mind.. wake up

RIP innocent Harish and may your family come out of this trauma soon.

    Dear brethren's,
Shameful...Shame on Mangalore police. Instead of making the society safer and secured, they have lost control over such groups in Mangalore who always creates disturbance and fear among the people. Shame on State govt for these non sense Jayanti's which already have taken few lives. Shame....What vote bank? Congress just cant win only with Muslim or Christian votes....no way....there are majority of hindus voted for you too....Then why this one sided politics and drama. Being a chief minister, one should look after his state people without looking at their caste, creed, religion, etc....Equality...Don't bring religion into politics. Religion is one's personal matter. I hope these BJP, Congis will understand what I am saying. Fight in the name of religion will take us back to Stone age.. My dear mangaloreans..please don't entertain these Beedi, cigarettes, PFIs, they are remote controlled by heartless politicians. They are not there to protect the society. They are there to devide the society. There is no difference between them and british...Devide and rule.

This is tragic. For all you, this could even be a case of personal rivalry, as his person was specifically targeted. Also, the fact that they brutally his friend belonging to another community points to the murder not having religious or other motives. Peple should wait until the investigation before going on a talking spree. I hope both their families get the strength to recover from this tragedy

Both Sangh parivar & PFI/SDPI is the major threat to the peaceful society.

Sangh parivar's intolerance towards minority caused the birth of these organisations to counter them through the same way which is not at all a good development.

Even though PFI/SDPI doing some social welfare activities it must not indulge in revenge policies instead bring awareness to the youth of the minorities to live & let live...
