Kolkata, Aug 12: An explosion took place at the McDonald's restaurant in Kolkata's upmarket Park Street Sunday morning killing one person on the spot and injuring three others.
Kolkata Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee said one person was brought dead from the scene to the SSKM Hospital in the vicinity while three others were seriously injured. "We are investigating if the blast occurred from a cylinder blast in the kitchen or was it something else," Mukherjee added. He also noted that blood stains were seen in the area.
He said the explosion occurred at 9-40 am at McDonald's opposite the city's famous cake and coffee shop Flury's.
