Bantwal: Harish murder - police take four into custody for questioning

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Nov 16: It is reliably learnt that the police have succeeded in putting together concrete information about the persons involved with the murder of Harish Poojary from Navoor in the taluk, and stabbing Samiulla.

Four suspects have been taken into custody. They are being subjected to intense interrogation, it is gathered. However, the police did not confirm about the arrests.

Harish Poojary and Samiulla were returning home in a two-wheeler after playing cricket on Thursday evening, when people who arrived in a white car attacked them with knives before fleeing. Harish, who suffered stab injuries at five points on his body, succumbed to his injuries, while Samiulla is recovering in the hospital.

Sources said that the policemen, who conducted investigation in different angles, have zeroed in on the culprits and taken four persons into custody. BJP and leaders have already brought pressure on the police department to see that innocents are not fixed in case, and only the real culprits are booked.

Member of Navoor gram panchayat, Sadanand Navoor, demanded for the arrest of culprits in the above murder and attack before Monday evening. He warned that the villagers of Navoor will begin to stage road blockade the national highway between Bantwal and Kadur from Tuesday onward if arrests are not made by then.

Inflicting injury on cop - 11 remanded to judicial custody

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Nov 16: Kadaba police arrested 11 persons and produced them in the court here, after which they were remanded to judicial custody. These persons are facing the allegation of attacking Sampya police sub-inspector, Ravi, with stones and injuring him during a friction between two crowds at Savanur in the taluk. This incident had occurred during the district bandh call given on Friday by Hindu outfits opposing celebrations of Tippu Sultan birth anniversary.

The accused persons have been identified as Abdul Majeed (34), Shahir (28), Sadiq K A (24), Muhammed Riyaz (25), Muneer (34), Ashraf (27), Abdul Nasir (21), Usman (21), Abdul Nasir (20), Muhammed Shakir (19), and Ravishankar (25). All of them have been dispatched to the district prison at Ballari.

Those supporting the bandh call had raised objections at the fact that a shop dealing in mobile phones that is located at Savanur Junction had opened for business much before the reopening time set for 3 pm. After the shopkeeper declined to close the shop, friction had arisen between two groups, after which the police had wielded their batons to disperse the fighting mobs. When Ravi, who had been summoned there to look after law and order situation, was sitting in the department jeep, a crowd had pelted stones at his vehicle. In this incident, Ravi had suffered injuries.

The police, who have information that more people were involved with this incident, are looking for remaining people now.

Let the police the name of the real culprits then only it will be clear who is behind it. No need to feel guilty beforehand saying that innocents should not be arrested.

I'm surprised that the BJP is supposedly "putting pressure" on the police that "Innocents should not be arrested" even before arrests had taken place? Who are these "Innocent" people that BJP does not want the police to arrest? Somethings very fishy. I hope justice is done

I find it surprising that in the case of the shop that was vandalised, nobody from the parivar who attacked it and started the riot were among the 11 people caught. What right did they have to force people to shut down shops? Considering the nature of the police, I won't be surprised if they succumb to BJP pressure (which they are brazen enough to do publicly) even in the Harish case and cook up a story letting off the real culprits (we know who they are), whom the BJP has, very cleverly, already called "innocent", before even they are caught! Because they know who did it

Very interesting development, Our TULU MP, Nalin kateel was asking for CBI enquiry for the same, as he knew who killed HARISH as mistaken identity, and he does not want local state police to catch the real culprits, now people will know the real face of VHP/RAM SENE/BD and their jobless leaders.

No doubt, if the real culprits are belongs to communal rss out fit then no doubt immediately released on natak baaj bail. Same thing all Mangaloreans observed for the arrested four persons. Who pelted stone on Masjid at Bunder. Attackers at Ullal Mogaveerpatna ran away time of police raid and jumped in to sea. Later called said all are relaxing at seashore and public attacked on them.
Now all have to wait and see new twist about the recent murder cases.

Due to the political issues in Dakshina Kanada resulting life ends of some poor and breadwinners of the family. Any Compensation can not return their life back or lifetime security for their family. Need to choose a right person to lead a State in a better way.... All the Political Party's loving only the Chair not thinking about social interest. Request the Authorities for fair investigation without cheating their Aatma and Karma and also not to come under any political pressure so that by the fair investigation at least will give Rest in Peace to the life ended people.

As per reports main target was Samiulla. When attackers assault him however he manage to run from them. Attackers thought pillion rider might be a Muslim so they target Hareesh without knowing his identity. So BJP saying don't fix innocents in this case. Otherwise they never have a soft corner towards Muslims.

One would like to know what is this extra "pressure" that the BJP wants to put on the police department to ensure that certain people aren't arrested? I hope the real culprits are arrested soon without any pressure from any political , and spend the rest of their life in jail

It's amusing to see the statement "BJP have already brought pressure on the police department to see that innocents are not fixed". Why is BJP making this special request in this case? Do they have something to hide? Are they afraid some of their people will get caught?
